SOUTH AMERICA EXPLORATION
& DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING
In 2009 Roger Higgs published two major syntheses (pdf copies available on request) on the Mesozoic-Cenozoic tectono-stratigraphic evolution of northern South America (Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad):
- Caribbean-South America oblique collision model revised. In: K. James, M.A. Lorente & J. Pindell (eds). Origin and Evolution of the Caribbean Plate. Geological Society of London, Special Publication 328, p. 611-655.
- The vanishing Carib Halite Formation (Neocomian), Colombia-Venezuela-Trinidad prolific petroleum province. In: K. James, M.A. Lorente & J. Pindell (eds). Origin and Evolution of the Caribbean Plate. Geological Society of London, Special Publication 328, p. 657-684.
Fluent in Spanish, thoroughly familiar with both the English- and Spanish-language literature, and with 26 years (to date, June 2013) consulting in the depo-tectonic interpretation of sedimentary rocks, particularly in Trinidad, Colombia and Venezuela (including 4 years inside PDVSA), Roger is well qualified to advise companies exploring, or developing oil/gas fields, or evaluating future bid rounds or farm-in opportunities in these and neighbouring countries.
Sedimentological and sequence-stratigraphic interpretation of the Orinoco heavy oil belt ("Faja del Orinoco") is a speciality.
